| First certificates International Studies
International Studies, the name speaks for itself: truly international in many ways. Not only because classes are in English or because there are visiting professors from the United States. There is much more. The business model with the American Mesa Community College is a ‘joint venture’. Recently this joint venture resulted in a very special graduation day, done in the American way. International Studies granted its first certificates on the basis of American credit points, making King William I College the first Dutch mbo-college to do so.

This Credit Point Certificate was granted to fifteen students. By means of VCN (video conferencing) in a direct satellite connection each one of them received warm personal congratulations from dr. Larry Christiansen, president of Mesa Community College.

American credit points
Needless to mention that the graduates all wore the traditional, black caps and gowns – an American tradition.

The two partner colleges named this course ‘Organizational Management AAS Degree Program Specializing in International Business’. The required American credit points can be earned in a number of subjects. Teaching staff is international – some subjects are offered by means of video conferencing and on-line classes through a direct satellite connection with the United States.
